Pragyan rover rolls out from Vikram lander

Chennai, August 24, 2023. The Pragyan rover has rolled out from the Vikram lander and will now start moving around on the lunar surface, marking a successful next stage hours after Chandrayaan-3 made its historic landing on the Moon, ISRO sources said Thursday. Its rolling out a few hours after the landing of Vikram marked the success of yet another stage of Chandrayan 3. Chandrayaan-3: Prez Murmu congratulates ISRO team for successful deployment of Pragyan-rover

New Delhi, August 24 2023. President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday congratulated ISRO team and fellow citizens for successful deployment of Pragyan-rover from inside Vikram-lander and said it marks the success of yet another stage of Chandrayaan-3. "I look forward with excitement, alongside my fellow citizens and scientists to the information and analyses that Pragyan will acquire and enrich our understanding of the moon," Murmu said. India had on Wednesday scripted history as ISRO's third Moon mission Chandrayaan-3's Lander Module (LM) touched down on the lunar surface, making it only the fourth country to accomplish the feat, and first to reach the uncharted south pole of Earth's only natural satellite.

Chandrayaan-3 completes last Moon-bound manouevre, gears up for propulsion and lander module separation

Bengaluru, August 16 2023. India's ambitious Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft on Wednesday successfully underwent a fifth and final lunar-bound orbit manoeuvre, bringing it even closer to the surface of the Moon. With this, the spacecraft has completed all of its Moon-bound manouvres, and it will now prepare for separation of the lander module -- comprising the lander and rover -- from the propulsion module. "Today’s successful firing, needed for a short duration, has put Chandrayaan-3 into an orbit of 153 km x 163 km, as intended. With this, the lunar bound maneuvers are completed. It's time for preparations as the Propulsion Module and the Lander Module gear up for their separate journeys,"

Chandrayaan-3 undergoes another orbit reduction maneuver, gets closer to Moon’s surface

Bengaluru, August 14, 2023. Chandrayaan-3 ventured closer to the lunar surface on Monday with another successful maneuver of the spacecraft by ISRO, the national space agency said. The Bengaluru-headquartered space agency said the spacecraft has now achieved a "near-circular orbit" around the Moon. Post its launch on July 14, Chandrayaan-3, the country's ambitious third Moon mission, had entered into lunar orbit on August 5, following which two orbit reduction maneuvers were carried out on the spacecraft on August 6 and 9.

Chandrayaan enters moon orbit: ‘Feeling lunar gravity’

New Delhi, August 07, 2023. Chandrayaan-3, aiming to become the first Indian spacecraft to make a soft landing on the moon, entered the lunar orbit on Saturday evening, completing another milestone in its journey. This means that the spacecraft which had been moving towards the moon for the last five days — since it emerged out of its earth-bound orbit — has now begun to circle around the moon. “MOX, ISTRAC, this is Chandrayaan-3. I am feeling lunar gravity,” said a tweet from ISRO on Saturday evening, putting words to what must only be an electronic signal from the spacecraft to the Mission Operations Complex (MOX) at the ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC).
