India bans 16 Pakistani YouTube channels over misinformation, provocative content
New Delhi, April 28, 2025.Acting on the recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Government of India has banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels for spreading provocative, communally sensitive content and misinformation targeting India, its Army, and security agencies.This move comes in the backdrop of the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.The banned channels include major platforms like Dawn News, ARY News, and Geo News, among others. Officials said these channels were disseminating false, misleading narratives that could harm India's national interest.Other YouTube channels are Irsha Bhatti, Raftar, The Pakistan Reference, SAMAA Sports, GNN, Uzair Cricket, Umar Cheema Exclusive, Asma Sirazi, Mujeeb Farooq, Suno Newz and Razi Naama.
