UP govt also changed the Kumbh nomenclature the same year. Before that Ardh Kumbh was celebrated every six years , Kumbh in 12 years and Maha Kumbh once in 144 years. Now, Ardh Kumbh is known as Kumbh and Kumbh as Maha Kumbh.
