Rupee rises 9 paise to close at 84.41 against US dollar

Mumbai, November 22, 2024. he rupee recovered from its all-time low level and appreciated 9 paise to close at 84.41 against the US dollar on Friday, supported by positive domestic equities. Forex traders said the rupee is trading in a narrow range as the US dollar strengthened in the overseas market and Brent oil continued to move up as fighting between Ukraine and Russia continued to gain investors' attention. Moreover, foreign institutional investors have continued their equities selling mode and kept the dollar well bid.

Rupee rises 11 paise to settle at 83.75 against US dollar

Mumbai, September 17, 2024. The rupee appreciated by 11 paise to settle at 83.75 (provisional) against the US dollar on Tuesday amid a weaker greenback against major currencies and a decline in crude oil prices. The decline in wholesale inflation to a four-month-low and a strong domestic market pushed up the domestic unit, forex traders said. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 83.87, down 1 paisa from its previous close and traded in the range of 83-70 to 83.87 during the day.

Rupee rises 8 paise to 83.79 against US dollar

New Delhi, August 20, 2024. The Indian rupee stayed firm for the second straight session and settled 8 paise higher at 83.79 (provisional) against the US dollar on Tuesday, buoyed by positive domestic equity markets, weak American currency and lower crude oil prices. Forex traders said, foreign fund outflow, however, resisted a sharp rise in the local unit. At the interbank foreign exchange, the rupee opened at 83.86 against the greenback and traded in the range of 83.76 to 83.88. The unit finally settled at 83.79 (provisional) against the dollar, registering a gain of 8 paise from its previous closing level.

Rupee rises 6 paise to close at 83.55 against US dollar

The rupee rebounded from its all-time low levels and appreciated 6 paise to close at 83.55 (provisional) against the US dollar on Thursday, as the American currency and brent crude oil prices retreated from their elevated levels. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the local unit opened at 83.51 against the greenback. The unit hit an intra-day high of 83.49. The domestic unit finally settled at 83.55 (provisional) against the dollar, 6 paise higher from its previous close.
