Vidya has revealed how the central Mumbai suburb has produced “too many hotties”, which include Bollywood stars.
In an interview with Curly Tales, Vidya spoke about her life in Chembur, where she spent 31 years. The 44-year-old actor revealed how she studied at St Anthony’s Girls High School, where Shilpa was her senior by three years.
“Shilpa Shetty was my senior by a couple of years. She was always the hottie. I remember she was also a basketball player and my mom one day decided that I should play basketball. At six in the morning, I was sent off to play basketball and there were already murmurs that Shilpa might be joining the movies. She was so sweet, I will never forget, she taught me how to dribble the ball. I thought now I know everything and told my mom, ‘I have learnt, I don’t have to go early morning from tomorrow.’”
In the interview, Vidya also spoke about Malaika and said she would pass her house for her classes– and all the boys would be waiting for her. “There was also Malaika Arora. She was from another school, but she would walk down the lane at a particular time for her French tuition, which was on my lane, and all the boys would be sitting out at that time, waiting for Malaika to pass! Just Chembur has produced too many hotties, what to do!” she added.
