Three days after he was stabbed by his schoolmate, a class 10 student in Udaipur died on Monday while undergoing treatment.
The stabbing incident had caused communal tensions in Udaipur, and the death of the boy has put the city further on edge. The district administration has extended the suspension of mobile internet services in Udaipur and nearby areas for 24 hours.
The student was admitted to a government hospital following the stabbing incident on Friday. During protests against the incident, a mob had set ablaze some vehicles and vandalised shops.
