UPI payment increased by 118% in rural and small towns

Jaipur, December 22, 2023. Transactions through Unified Payments Interface (UPI) at retail stores in rural and semi-urban areas have increased by 118% in a year. If we talk about its value i.e. the amount transacted, it has also seen an increase of 106%. According to the data of National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI), a total of 7030.51 million (about Rs 703 crore) transactions have been done from December 1 to 18 this year. The amount transacted through these transactions has been around ₹ 11 lakh crore.

Commercial LPG rate cut by Rs 39.50 per 19-kg cylinder

New Delhi, December 22, 2023. Commercial cooking gas (LPG) prices were on Friday cut by Rs 39.50 per 19-kg cylinder in line with softening international benchmarks. However, the price of domestic LPG -- used in household kitchens for cooking purposes -- remained unchanged at Rs 903 per 14.2-kg cylinder. Commercial LPG -- used in various establishments such as hotels and restaurants -- will now cost Rs 1,757 per 19-kg cylinder in the national capital as against Rs 1,796.50,

X users face hour-long outage; services restored now

Jaipur, December 22, 2023. Social media platform X suffered an outage for over one hour on Thursday, with users complaining that they could not access posts on the platform. The services were back and posts became visible after sometime, but some users were unable to see several of their recent posts on the platform. 4 soldiers die, 3 injured as terrorists attack two army vehicles in Rajouri

Jammu, December 22, 2023. Four soldiers were killed and three injured when heavily armed terrorists attacked two army vehicles in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. A defence spokesperson said a search operation was launched in the general area of Dhera Ki Gali (DKG) in Poonch district on Wednesday night based on “hard intelligence” about the presence of terrorists and an encounter ensued there. As additional forces were moving to the site, the terrorists fired at an army truck and a Gypsy killing four soldiers and seriously injuring three others, officials said. “The fire was immediately retaliated upon by own troops,” Jammu-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Suneel Bartwal said.
