Transactions through Unified Payments Interface (UPI) at retail stores in rural and semi-urban areas have increased by 118% in a year. If we talk about its value i.e. the amount transacted, it has also seen an increase of 106%.
According to the data of National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI), a total of 7030.51 million (about Rs 703 crore) transactions have been done from December 1 to 18 this year. The amount transacted through these transactions has been around ₹ 11 lakh crore.
