New Delhi, April 29, 2025.The Delhi Cabinet on Tuesday approved a bill to regulate fee in all private schools in the national capital, which will provide a huge relief to parents who raised issue of arbitrary hike every year.Addressing a press conference, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that schools will face strict penalties from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 10 lakh for non-compliance of the government's directives.Gupta, who termed the move "bold and historic", said that the BJP government will call an urgent session of the Delhi Assembly to pass the Delhi School Education Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees Bill, 2025.

Parents can choose up to five schools as options for the lottery, which will be conducted on April 9.
