Rajasthan govt expands recruitment of Medical Officers in state

Jaipur, February 20,2025.The Bhajanlal government in Rajasthan has expanded recruitment for Medical Officer (MO) positions, increasing the total number of vacancies from 1,480 to 1,700. The Rajasthan University of Health and Sciences (RUHS) will oversee the hiring process, with exams scheduled for April.According to the latest order, 220 more positions have been added to the original recruitment drive. February 14 marked the opening of the application window, and today was the last date to apply.Originally, applications were invited between September and October last year, with exams planned for November. New Delhi, February 19, 2025.US consumers often pay more for gluten-free products, yet these items typically provide less protein and more sugar and calories compared with gluten-containing alternatives. That is the key finding of my new study, published in the journal Plant Foods for Human Nutrition.This study compared gluten-free products with their gluten-containing counterparts, and the findings suggested that many perceived benefits of gluten-free products – such as weight control and diabetes management – are exaggerated.Currently, many gluten-free products lack dietary fiber, protein and essential nutrients. Manufacturers often add supplements to compensate, but the incorporation of dietary fibres during processing can hinder protein digestion.

This means that one in every two deliveries in private hospitals in India is happening through C-section.According to the World Health Organization, C-section is required in only 10%-25% of delivery cases. C-section should not be chosen as an option for delivery without necessity. More than 30% of deliveries in India happen through cesarean procedure every year.C-section delivery is a surgical procedure in which the baby is removed through an incision in the abdomen and uterus. This procedure is usually needed when normal delivery is not safe or there is a risk of some complications.

New Delhi, February 06, 2025.Switching regular salt with a substitute, having a lower sodium content, could reduce risk of recurring stroke by up to 14 per cent and that of death by 12 per cent, a study has found.Regular salt is increasingly being recommended against for preventing heart disease, with the World Health Organization (WHO) advising a daily intake of under five grams of salt or about two grams of sodium.Salt substitutes are alternatives containing potassium and lower levels of sodium.

New Delhi, January 29, 2025.Vitamin D is the most common deficiency, affecting over 60 per cent of people with diabetes, according to a global analysis published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) Nutrition Prevention and Health.The analysis, based on 132 studies conducted between 1998 and 2023 involving more than 52,000 participants, also found that magnesium deficiency affects 42 per cent of people with diabetes, while 28 per cent suffer from iron deficiency.Researchers, including those from the Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), Rajasthan, said that the study helps assess the global prevalence of micronutrient deficiency -- whereby levels of vitamins and minerals essential for healthy bodily function are far too low -- in people with type 2 diabetes.
