CCTV cameras will be installed at independent exam centres and those marked as sensitive by the district administration for Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) scheduled to be held on Feb 27, said Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) secretary Kailash Sharma on Thursday.
The education department also plans to compile and distribute a list of blacklisted centres to various districts. District authorities have been issued instructions to scout new potential exam venues and notify RBSE regarding centres requiring supplementary CCTV installations.
All activities at exam centres marked as sensitive will be monitored through CCTV cameras. “Videography will be done for all activities at all REET exam centres, and CCTV cameras will be installed at sensitive and independent centres. A nodal centre will be made for centres where there is no police station nearby, and question papers will be opened only at the nodal centre in the presence of police,” said Sharma.
Question papers are usually kept at the police stations nearest to the exam centres and sent to the centres on the exam day.
“The education department will share the list of blacklisted centres with district education officers, who will then check it. Accordingly, RBSE will inform district collectors not to involve any such centre with any exam-related activity. The district administrations will inform RBSE by Jan 5 about different centres and the candidate capacity of each,” said Sharma.
The board exams for class 10 and 12 is likely to get delayed because REET is scheduled for Feb 27. “We are trying to ensure that board exams start within a week of REET so that the academic timeline for students does not get disturbed. Board exams are likely to start from Mar 6,” said Sharma.
