BJP MLA Shrichand Kriplani raised the issue of Samajwadi Party MP Ramjilal Suman calling ‘Rajput king Rana Sanga a traitor’ through a Point of Information and demanded action in the entire matter. Ramjilal had mentioned this in the Rajya Sabha Friday.
On this, Congress MLA Harimohan Sharma stated that this issue cannot be discussed in the House. The moment Sharma said this, BJP MLAs objected strongly, asking, “Why can’t the insult of Rana Sanga be discussed in the House?” They questioned, “Are you supporting the comment on Rana Sanga?” This led to a ruckus in the House.
Govt chief whip Jogeshwar Garg said the Congress legislature party stands with Ramjilal Suman, a person who insulted Rana Sanga. “It (Congress) should be ashamed,” said Garg.
Kriplani said, “With you standing to speak, it is clear that you are with Ramjilal Suman. Congress has exposed itself. You are supporting the Mughals.”
Leader of opposition Tikaram Jully later said, “Rana Sanga is the pride of Rajasthan, having fought battles with numerous injuries. Regardless of what anyone says, he elevated the name of Rajasthan Rajputana. Continuous tampering with history is happening, whether by anyone, and contributions in history may vary.
