Google moves Pixel smartphone production to India
New Delhi, April 22,2025.Alphabet Inc., Google's parent company, is actively discussing plans with Indian manufacturers Dixon Technologies and Foxconn to move part of its Google Pixel smartphone production from Vietnam to India. The main goal? To avoid potential high tariffs on products imported from Vietnam to the United States.The discussions started around two weeks ago, according to industry insiders. This move comes as the US considers imposing steep tariffs on Vietnamese goods up to 46% while India's tariff stands at 26%. Though a 90-day pause on these tariffs was announced on April 9, the base 10% tariff remains.
