Manipur violence: SC to pass orders on Aug 25 to facilitate functioning of Justice Gita Mittal panel

New Delhi, August 21, 2023. A panel headed by former judge Gital Mittal to oversee relief and rehabilitation of victims of violence in Manipur on Monday submitted three reports to the Supreme Court, including one on the need to upgrade the compensation scheme for the strife-torn people of the state. Bengaluru, August 21 2023. ISRO on Monday said a two-way communication between the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter and Chandrayaan-3's Lunar Module has been established. "‘Welcome, buddy!’ Ch-2 orbiter formally welcomed Ch-3 LM. Two-way communication between the two is established. MOX has now more routes to reach the LM," the national space agency said in a post on 'X'. ISRO said on Sunday the lander module of Chandrayaan-3, the third lunar mission of India, is expected to touch down on the surface of the Moon around 6.04 pm on August 23.

Chandrayaan-3 completes last Moon-bound manouevre, gears up for propulsion and lander module separation

Bengaluru, August 16 2023. India's ambitious Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft on Wednesday successfully underwent a fifth and final lunar-bound orbit manoeuvre, bringing it even closer to the surface of the Moon. With this, the spacecraft has completed all of its Moon-bound manouvres, and it will now prepare for separation of the lander module -- comprising the lander and rover -- from the propulsion module. "Today’s successful firing, needed for a short duration, has put Chandrayaan-3 into an orbit of 153 km x 163 km, as intended. With this, the lunar bound maneuvers are completed. 16 killed in Shimla landslides, Solan cloudburst

Shimla, August 14 2023. At least 16 people were killed in two landslides in Shimla and a cloudburst in Solan as rain wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh on Monday.
