Ashok Gehlot questions Haryana CM’s offer to help arrest Monu Manesar

Jaipur, August 03, 2023.Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday said his Haryana counterpart was trying to divert attention from communal clashes taking place there by offering to give Rajasthan Police a free hand in acting against Monu Manesar – a Bajrang Dal activist and cow vigilante.His remarks came a day after Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said Rajasthan Police was free to take action against Monu Manesar, the prime accused in the killing of two Muslims in February this year on suspicion of being cow smugglers.Gehlot alleged that earlier when Rajasthan Police went to Haryana to arrest the accused in the double murder case, it received no cooperation from police there.

New Delhi, August 03, 2023.Hours after Congress leader Manish Tewari on Thursday said the government might get the Digital Data Protection Bill classified as a money bill, Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw refuted the charge and termed it a "normal bill".Tewari earlier in the day suggested that the Data Protection Bill should be considered a regular bill while noting that it should again go to a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC).But as the bill was moved in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Vaishnaw rejected the suggestions that it was a money bill and called it a "normal bill".

New Delhi, August 03, 2023.Mammography screening supported by artificial intelligence (AI) detected one-fifth more breast cancers compared with standard screening and nearly halved the screen-reading workload for radiologists, new research published in The Lancet Oncology journal said.The findings conveyed the safety of AI-supported mammography, a diagnostic procedure for breast tumour screening, as an alternative to the conventional double reading by radiologists, the study led by Lund University, Sweden, said.Eighty-thousand Swedish women were recruited for the study and randomly allocated into two groups - an intervention group (40,003 women) that underwent AI-supported screening and a control group (40,030) that underwent standard screening.
