Tata Group’s airline Air India unveiled Manish Malhotra-designed dresses for cabin crew and pilots. The airline’s female cabin crew will wear ombre sarees with a modern touch, while the men will wear bandhgalas. For the cockpit crew, classic black suits have been designed.
Manish Malhotra has also designed footwear to wear with the dress. While the women will wear dual-tone (black and burgundy) block heels, the male cabin crew will wear comfortable black brogues. Dress has also been designed for Air India’s ground staff, engineers and security personnel. These have not been unveiled yet.
The color palette of the new dress includes deep red, burgundy, purple and gold. The new livery will be gradually introduced with the entry of the first Airbus A350 aircraft in Air India. The airline says that the new uniform has been designed by Manish Malhotra keeping in mind the rich cultural heritage of India.
