Nearly 50% of Palace on Wheels trips cancelled
Jaipur, February 26,2025.Perhaps for the first time in luxury train Palace on Wheels' 43-year history, out of 32 scheduled trips from Sept 27 last year to April 2, 15 journeys have already been cancelled due to inadequate tourist numbers, including the one on Wednesday, Feb 26. The passenger demographic for the train comprises 95% foreigners and 5% Indians.Bhagat Singh Lohagarh, O&M operator of Palace on Wheels, verified this, and suggested that negative narratives about India have led to a decline in foreign tourist arrivals.
