Tech Mahindra, Atento join hands to offer GenAI-powered services

New Delhi, April 30, 2024. IT company Tech Mahindra on Tuesday said it has partnered with Spain-based Atento to provide generative AI-powered solutions and services to global enterprises. Atento is a customer relationship management (CRM) and business transformation outsourcing (BTO) company in Latin America. “The partnership will deliver end-to-end business transformation solutions and services that leverageGenerative AI-powered technologies, as well as customer experience (CX) consulting for customers in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa and Latin American regions,” the company said in a statement. The partnership will provide a comprehensive suite of business process outsourcing (BPO) solutions and services in more than 50 languages, it added.

Gold slumps Rs 150; silver plunges Rs 750

Jaipur, April 30, 2024. Extending the losses for the second straight session, gold prices on Tuesday slumped Rs 150 to Rs 72,600 per 10 grams in the national capital amid fall in precious metal rates in the global markets, according to HDFC Securities. The yellow metal had closed at Rs 72,750 per 10 grams in the previous session. Silver prices also plunged Rs 750 to Rs 83,750 per kg. In the previous close, it had ended at Rs 84,500 per kg.

IOC net profit halves in Q4 on fuel price cut, petchem woes

New Delhi, April 30, 2024.  Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) on Tuesday reported halving of its March quarter net profit largely because of losses in the petrochemical business and shrinking margin after it announced a pre-election fuel price cut despite rising input costs. The net profit of Rs 4,837.69 crore in January-March compared to Rs 10,058.69 crore a year back and Rs 8,063.39 crore in the preceding October-December quarter, according to a stock exchange filing by the company. Profit was lower as refining margins dipped, the petrochemical segment turned negative, and the firm, last month, cut petrol and diesel prices by Rs 2 per litre each despite crude oil prices edging up. P&G Hygiene and Health Q3 profit falls 6.5 pc to Rs 154.4 cr, sales rise 13.5 pc to Rs 1,002 cr

New Delhi, April 30, 2024. Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd on Tuesday reported a decline of 6.45 per cent in profit after tax at Rs 154.37 crore in the third quarter ended March 2024 on account of one-time tax impacts. The company, which follows the July-June financial year, had reported a profit after tax of Rs 165.02 crore in the corresponding quarter of the preceding fiscal. However, Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd (PGHH) revenue from operations increased 13.48 per cent to Rs 1,002.17 crore during the quarter under review. It was at Rs 883.09 crore a year ago.

Granules gets USFDA nod for generic gout medication

New Delhi, April 30, 2024. Drug firm Granules India on Tuesday said it has received approval from the US health regulator to market a medication used to prevent or treat gout attacks. Granules Pharmaceuticals, Inc, a wholly-owned foreign subsidiary of the company, has received approval from the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) for Colchicine Capsules (0.6 mg), it said in a regulatory filing. The company’s product is therapeutically equivalent to Hikma International Pharmaceuticals LLC’s Mitigare Capsules (0.6 mg), it added. Colchicine Capsules are indicated for prophylaxis of gout flares in adults. According to industry sources, the current annual market for Colchicine Capsules in the US is expected to be around USD 55 million.

Uttarakhand Govt cancels 14 Patanjali licences

New Delhi, April 30, 2024. The Supreme Court on Tuesday reprimanded the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority for its "inaction" in the misleading advertisement case against Patanjali Ayurved. The court stated that the authority "tried to wash away everything". It also pulled up the Baba Ramdev-promoted company, noting it was "not complying" with its orders. The Patanjali produced an e-copy of the public apology when the court asked for original records. In response, the bench said, "This is not compliance". "I am raising my hands in this case; enough of this non-compliance of our orders," the bench of Justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah said.
